Routine (RCA) and special (SCAL) core analysis tests provide the only direct and quantitative measurement of reservoir petrophysical properties and should provide the foundation for integrated formation evaluation. Unfortunately, and too frequently, core analysis planning, program design and management are done poorly and the results are often confusing or contradictory, with the result that around 70% of legacy SCAL data are generally unfit for purpose.

Reservoir production monitoring and well-testing are information basis for numerical simulation, reservoir management, planning of new drilling, work-over, etc. and production forecast. Main parts of production monitoring are technological measurements and well-testing.

Technological measurements (wellhead rate and water-cut measurements, down-hole pressure measurements and other technological parameters) are mass but give not much information about the reservoir.

Abstract:

I would like attendants to this presentation to know that is possible to deal with uncertainties present on a number of current technical and economic issues faced by our industry using relatively simple economic and risk analysis tools.

The presentation will show actual examples of Risk Analysis applications for Drilling, Production and Reservoir management as well as basic means to develop such applications.

- Oil and gas in a modern world. Structure of primary energy consumption.
- Proven global petroleum reserves. How long can we consume hydrocarbon resources?
- Different estimates of hydrocarbon resources of the Russian arctic shelf.
- Challenges and future opportunities associated with its development.

Drilling Optimization

i-DRILL is an engineering service that specializes in predictive modeling to solve drill string related problems by analysing drilling operations and developing optimised drilling program solutions that reduce risks and lower drilling costs for our Customers. This service is provided by a group of specifically trained engineers using IDEAS (Integrated Design and Engineering Analysis System) programs running on high end Linux boxes.

Russian Smart Field

Salym Petroleum Development N.V. (SPD) is a Joint Venture operating and developing the Salym group of oilfields in Western Siberia. The fields are artificially lifted, predominantly using variable speed drive ESP’s for some 350 wells (2010).  Pump controllers and well head instrumentation has been tied-into a SCADA/Historian system.

Meeting the Challenges of Waste Disposal in the Mainland of Russia – Successful Design and Implementation of the First Full-Scale Drilling Waste Injection Project in Western Siberia

Abstract

The South part of the Priobskoe field, located in Western Siberia on a flood land of the Irtysh River, is an environmentally sensitive area. Zero discharge regulations prohibit cuttings discharge and spills of liquid wastes on the surface.
