Gas Condensates - ATW

Gas condensate reservoirs are becoming increasingly important with more and more new condensate fields discovered and developed worldwide, especially in Russia. Defining well production performance is an important issue for practical development of gas condensate fields. However, accurate forecasts of gas condensate well deliverability is still a challenge because the need to understand and account for the complex processes that occur in near-well region. In gas condensate reservoirs, liquid dropout occurs around the wellbore, impeding the gas flow and thereby causing a loss of productivity. This phenomena has been known for a long time as “condensate blockage” and has attracted great research interest. Nevertheless the problem of well deliverability improvement has not been successfully solved yet and needs to be carefully examined.

Workshop Objectives and Deliverables

  • To bring together key technical experts from main gas condensate provinces in the world including Western countries and Russia and share best practices
  • To review the state-of-the-art related to gas condensate well deliverability prediction methods
  • Identify how to maximise the benefit from recent technological advances
  • To determine present limitations and future challenges

Who Should Attend

The workshop is a limited attendance meeting for up to 80 people, designed for professionals in the oil and gas industry who are involved in gas condensate reservoirs, multicomponent gas-liquid flow in porous media and operations planning with an emphasis on well production issues as well. The workshop is aimed at people whose principal job area falls into
any following categories:

  • Reservoir Engineers
  • Production Engineers
  • Geology/Geosciences
  • Researchers
  • Simulation Engineers
