After years of practice horizontal, multilateral and extended reach wells have been effectively and efficiently implemented worldwide to develop various types of oil and gas fields, including unconventional resources. The application of these technologies is an established strategy in some regions, while the economics are difficult to justify in other areas. In this Workshop, we aim to gather experts from different disciplines and affiliations to share their experience and discuss the problems and solutions associated with drilling, completions, stimulation, and performance optimisation of these types of wells in challenging environments.

TECHNICAL PROGRAMME

The workshop is expected to include the following topic sessions:

Monday, January 30,  2012

DRILLING HORIZONTAL WELLBORES

  • wellbore stability
  • ECD, MPD
  • directional

 DRILLING ERD WELLS
