Dear Colleagues!

We have pleasure in inviting you to Russia’s key oil & gas industry event – the 2010 SPE Russian Oil & Gas Technical Conference and Exhibition. The theme of the conference is “Best Practices and Innovations for Mature and Frontier Developments”.

October 2010 will be the third time that oil and gas, and service companies, research institutes and industry schools will meet in Moscow for the SPE’s biennial event to share their experience and professionally debate the operational and strategic agenda that is invaluable to the oil and gas industry in Russia, Caspian countries as well as new regions, including the Arctic.

At the conference, you may attend plenary, technical and poster sessions, talk to the speakers and take a look at the exhibition. Presentations relating to the world’s best practices will give you access to the most experienced practitioners in enhanced oil and gas field development. When discussing the innovative technologies, you will have a chance to witness the novel approaches to old problems, which, in turn, will facilitate project success in severe environments.

You may submit your paper proposal using six technical disciplines, starting with HSE, which, in our view, is most important topic. Paper proposals that target major and complicated field development phases that provide a business case with a set of comprehensive solutions will be of great interest to the Conference Programme Committee. We also welcome paper proposals with simple and easy-to-learn rules, algorithms and diagrams summarizing the outcomes of a set of specific solution implementation methods in various fields and development environments.

2. Geology and Geophysics –  role of modeling at all stages of geological prospecting
3. Reservoir Evaluation and Engineering – integrated approach for improving recovery
4. Well Construction - Drilling & Completion
5. Facilities, Construction, and Projects – from smart design to effective implementation
6. Production Operations – Optimization for the life of the field

Priority will be given to the SPE-standard paper proposals, with a clear-cut summary. This will help the Conference Programme Committee choose the most interesting and relevant paper proposals, merging together the respective experiences, innovations, traditions and latest practices (see included the guidelines for submitting a paper proposal).

Please do not delay submitting your paper proposal to ensure the greatest chance of your achievements being included in the conference programme. We look forward to such paper proposals from both existing and new participants as well as all those who look for relevant and helpful information and those who want to pursue networking opportunities with colleagues from other companies
