The proportion of the complex reserves in today’s production profile worldwide is constantly increasing in the last decades. Hydrocarbon reserves associated with highly heterogeneous reservoirs , low thickness pay zones, complex fluid saturation profiles, and extremely low permeability rock are currently playing a significant role is reserves and production portfolio. Geographical and operationally complex environment like Arctic’s offshore and extra deep water are becoming and operational standard for many companies

The increasing complexity of the reserve structure and associated risks and very tight economic constraints for many E&P projects put a firm demand on developing and implementing the technologies and workflows aiming to their optimal development.

One of the rapidly developing technology areas is the use of horizontal, Extended Reach and Multirateral wells. Application Horizontal drilling technology has a proven record of significant positive impact on production and recovery but at the same time it introducers additional complications, risk and challenges to the well design process , drilling technology itself, data evaluation and integration techniques .

The workshop is aimed at covering the wide spectrum of Horizontal and lateral wells applications, challenges and significant achievements.
